Built in 1910, the home reflects a Spanish colonial revival style. The style was popular in the first third of the 20th century, especially for residential architecture. The interiors of the houses had fewer rooms than their 19th century predecessors, but the rooms are much larger and space flows more freely - an arrangement reflecting both the open planning and the more informal lifestyle of the times. Although derived from historical precedent, the period house was a distinctive architectural development that was basically American. (Source: National Trust For Historic Preservation.
