Hurst Hammock is a small community on the Perdido River. The meaning of the term hammock can be generally applied to any area that is characterized by a diverse collection of both deciduous and evergreen hardwood trees. This north Florida hammock is hydric in nature with a high water table on a wooded coastal wetland.
