All foods were prepared and consumed in the kitchen-dining area, except for summertime. Preliminary food preparation occurred in the dog trot during this time. The water bucket was kept full for kitchen use.

A narrow peninsula forms a barrier between the bay and the entrance to the bayou.

The hillside is covered with natural foliage to prevent erosion. The bay bluffs in this area are unique in the State of Florida and were formed by erosion of the Escambia River which empties into Pensacola Bay.

Most of the homes on the bluff have a fishing pier.

The inlet is protected from the bay.

Madisons Diner is located on the north side of the building. A variety of southern style soul food is served seven days a week.

One or one-and-a-half-story Craftsman houses are called bungalows. The Berthelot bungalow exemplifies the style with its wide, deep front porch, supported by thick, simple columns which sit on brick pedestals.

The northern facade of the building faces Fort Pickens Road.

Battery Langdon is directly across Fort Pickens Road from the shelter and walkway leading to the gulf.

The facade of the Old Schoolhouse Inn faces a picnic area and a small creek.

The dining car can be accessed from the loading platform.

The Riverwalk continues on the south side of the Blackwater Bridge.

The dock of the south Riverwalk extends out into the river. The channel leading to Milton from Escambia Bay, through East Bay, then north to the mouth of the river is deep and well marked. Depths to Milton range from 12 to 26 feet making entry by large vessels easy.

The park benches are popular spots in the park. The childrens area is on the left of the photograph.

The east side of the park is bordered by Reus Street on the far right of the photograph.

The childrens play area can be seen in the center of the photograph.

The boots were nailed to the trunk of the oak tree by Jeff Thompson's widow shortly after he died 25 years ago. He is the great-grandfather of John Michael Roush.

County Commissioner's offices are located on the third floor.

Wooden benches were constructed on the end of the dock by one of the residents. This view faces due west. At sunset, porpoises often swim past.

The dock has been built adjacent to a lot in the Mackey Point development.
