Milton: Riverwalk
A walking dock borders the river and provides easy access to the city’s attractions. It is the site of several special events, including the annual Riverfest Fourth of July Celebration and the Blackwater Festival where hundreds of boats congregate to enjoy on-shore events and form a flotilla to view the evening’s fireworks.
-
The riverwalk park extends for three blocks in the historic district of the downtown area along the river.
-
The town is located in Santa Rosa County.
-
The town was founded as part of the lumber boom of the late 19th century.
-
The Riverwalk continues on the south side of the Blackwater Bridge.
-
The town of Milton is located on the Blackwater River. Boats approaching Milton from Destin, Navarre, the Intercostal Waterway, Pensacola and the Gulf of Mexico can enjoy long-term and short-term docking or quiet anchorage in the gentle waters of the Blackwater.
