The Edward Ball Nature Preserve features a half-mile boardwalk, which meanders through Thompson’s Bayou over a hardwood swamp, with prothonotary warbler-laden cypress trees above and wading egrets below. The preserve is home to mammals, birds, fish and reptiles, including turtles and an occasional American alligator. [Click here for trail map.](http://www.visitpensacola.com/trailmap/14_uwf.html)
