Pensacola: Historic Pensacola Village: The Weavers Cottage

The Weavers Cottage was moved to the site in 1989 from 524 East Zaragoza Street to 207 East Zaragoza Street. Often these small Gulf Coast style cottages had only two rooms which were rented separately. Today this simple cottage contains a weaving exhibit which illustrates a craft which was important to a small community like Pensacola. The cottage is a Gulf Coast architectural style with two front doors. The house was divided into two one-room apartments. The pyramid roof was once a common sight in Pensacola. The style is wind-resistant during hurricanes and tropical storms.
