Pensacola: Historic Pensacola Village: Museum Of IndustryBuilt in 1884 for the Pensacola Ice Company, the Hispanic Building was a long narrow brick structure with six arches facing Zaragoza Street. Earlier structures at this site served as British and Spanish barracks, a boarding house and, in the 1830's the home of the West Florida Academy. The present building has housed the New Orleans Grocery Company, the Levy-Hallmark Company and the Pensacola-Lurton Company which leased it to the county for a surplus warehouse. It was acquired by the city in 1968 and is now part of the Historic Pensacola Village. (Source: Johnson, Sandra and Virginia Parks. "Pensacola: The Old and the New". ISBN 0-939566-05-2.)

The 6-Pounder Field Gun, Model 1841 bronze smoothbore cannon, was used by the United States from 1840's to the 1860's. It was employed in the Mexican War and the Civil War where it was used primarily by the South. The South relied heavily on the 6-Pounder early int he war and particularly in the Army of Tennessee when at times 80 percent or more of the available field artillery consisted of 6-Pounders and 12-Pound Field howitzers. taken by Denise Daughtry
Robert's Florida Battery is performing at the Open House for the Historic Village. It was reestablished in 1985 as an association of individuals united for the purpose of preserving and promoting knowledge of the American Civil War period and the memory of those who served on both sides during that conflict. The unit has one full-scale 6-pounder cannon used to portray Civil War field artillery in action. taken by Michael ODonovan
