Pensacola Beach: Quietwater Beach

Quietwater Beach became a family destination in 1931 when the mainland and Gulf Breeze bridges were opened. The water is calm and the water is shallow for 100 yards into the sound. It was a gathering place for young families with picnic tables shaded by canopies. (Source: Dunlap, Deborah & Tracey L. Martin. "Remember When...Volume Two." ISBN 1- 929727-03-8.)
