Old East Hill: Firehouse Number OneThe Pensacola Fire Department protects a 25.08 square mile area with a population of 58,000. In addition to fire/rescue and prevention activities, the department provides Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting to the airport and serves as the City Emergency Preparedness Office. The department holds a Class 2 fire insurance rating. The department has the distinction of being the regional testing and training site for the State Fire Marshal's Bureau of Fire Standards and Training and is the first fire department within the state to have received an ISO Class 1 fire rating.
