Milton: Canal Street School

The Canal Street School was built in the Renaissance Revival style. First known as the Santa Rosa Conty Graded School, it also included a two year normal school along with grades 1 - 12. Outgrown within a few yars, the nearby Masoic Hall was used for the lower grades until Berryhill School was built in 1925, after which time it became the High School. It served as the Milton Campus for Pensacola Junior College from 1971 to 1985. After the new campus was built, the schoolhouse reverted to the school board and is used as it's administrative center.
